The project was commissioned in 1958 to Henry Hester, one of San Diego’s premier modernist architects. DGA Architecture contacted us to figure out the perfect outdoor floor for this midcentury modern renovation. The floor needed to be lightweight, permeable and durable enough to withstand years of use by the homeowners. Our interlocking deck tiles were the perfect fit, a lightweight non intrusive flooring solution that is modular removable and easy to clean. Since the outdoor patios are complimented by a beautiful and original teak sidewalls, the look of hardwood was everywhere, and use our Ipe interlocking deck tiles over the 2000 sq ft of area was the perfect match. The finished results were stunning. The homeowner still to this day has the same deck tiles we installed in 2014 and enjoys a sleek yet refined look the patios with minimal maintenance
