The Scope:

When Dwell magazine contacted us to feature our pedestal paver products after so many years after we launched the first modular deck tile system at the Dwell ON DESIGN Trade show in 2012. We were to say the least, thrilled with the idea. The project would make it a full circle to come back to Dwell after so many years of collaboration. The Dwell Home Venice designed by Sebastian Mariscal in the famous Venice beach. The architect incorporated elevated decks as walk decks and the sky deck balconies as well as ground level solutions for the open air bathroom suite. A unique coastal bungalow of incredible design and taste incorporating our wood deck tile systems over tall pedestals. The result was a masterpiece. The homes exterior made use of Shou Sugi Ban, a Japanese burnt wood technique for all of the exterior siding of the home combined with our natural warm tones with our Structural Ipe deck tiles. We now had a home that was termite proof and extremely fire resistant in both the siding and the ipe walk decks. The results were stunning and the decks came out a true master showcase for our ipe deck tile products.
